STRING THEM UP!!!!!!!

that's right. The constitution describes treason as a capital offense.

Colluding with a foreign, adversarial government to undermine our most sacred national value, free and fair elections, is high treason.

This is serious and should be treated as such. The evidence is clear that contacts were made with Russian operatives during the election, that Russia hacked a candidate's emails and that of her party. That those hacks directly affected the outcome of the election. That Trump's campaign operatives had numerous illicit contacts with major governmental figures in the Kremlin.

So, to all my Conservative friends who believe in "Original Intent" of the Founding Fathers, here's their original intent for such a crime:

STRING THEM UP!!!!!

Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution:

Section 3.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

The Congress shall have power to declare the punishment of treason, but no attainder of treason shall work corruption of blood, or forfeiture except during the life of the person attainted.

We are not at war at the current moment.

The US Constitution is clear about what is treason. It is quite narrowly defined. It was deliberately done this way so that treason could not be used as a political weapon!

Please, please stop ringing that cockamaimie treason bell.

Try to understand why Madison & Co. put it in the Constitution this way in the first place.

What war was being fought in 1953 when Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed.

Please don't say Korea, it was never declared and was considered a "police action".

Most Americans, however, believed that the Rosenbergs had been dealt with justly. President Dwight D. Eisenhower spoke for many Americans when he issued a statement declining to invoke executive clemency for the pair. He stated, “I can only say that, by immeasurably increasing the chances of atomic war, the Rosenbergs may have condemned to death tens of millions of innocent people all over the world. The execution of two human beings is a grave matter. But even graver is the thought of the millions of dead whose deaths may be directly attributable to what these spies have done.”

it was espionage. It turns out to be semantics.

History refers to them a traitors. I sympathize with them. I think they were railroaded.

However, it is a precedent, and espionage or treason, they are just as dead.
