It's pretty fucking sad when Shep Smith of Fox FUCKING News asked a tougher question today than any of you did.

(54,296 posts)It's cheap and lazy. They asked plenty of good questions. They are taking shit 24/7. Their role is not to prop up Trump's ego or yours.
This is precisely the kind of attitude that people use to dismiss any and all information they find inconvenient.

(54,296 posts)What do you think their job is? You're the one running around the site talking about how great Trump did at the news conference. Is that what you wanted them and to say?

(54,296 posts)You gave a bumper sticker slogan about truth to power. What questions did you think they should have asked? You criticize but say nothing of substance.

(12,397 posts)You've criticized them repeatedly here today. Obviously, you must have some specific questions in mind.

(54,296 posts)About the hacking of the DNC emails and his campaign's contacts with the Russians. That is what Smith is taking about: the way Trump refused to answer the questions asked.

(4,407 posts)I just watched the entire presser. Don't they think their questions out before they ask them? And why so many questions about the press? They are deporting mothers and domestic abuse victims, the Russians and North Koreans are launching new ICBMs, the President legitimized Flynn's treason, and all CNN wants to talk about FAKE NEWS. I have real news for CNN, that's what Trump WANTED them to ask.
I'm tired of CNN fighting with him. They should go out and dig up his dirt, not try to see how many times they can make him say fake news.
One reason we have Trump is we don't have the professional press anymore. The press made this President and they will keep him going at this rate.

(60,011 posts)That is a common ploy of those who want to control how the pressers work.
I used to think such games were rumors, but given these days....

(279 posts)Any of them could have asked ANY question they wanted to.

(54,296 posts)Like Christian Broadcasting and Breitbart. Today he actually called on some respectable news outlets, and they asked the very questions the OP insists they didn't.

(54,296 posts)Flynn, and they asked about immigration and DACA. They also asked about the spy ship.
They didn't know the pres was giving a press conference. They were told he was there to introduce the labor secretary.
CNN was trying to get him to deal with the contradiction between calling the reports about Flynn and ties to Russians fake news while complaining about leaks. The point was to expose Trump's dishonestly about Flynn.
You say you watched it but managed to miss nearly everything.

(12,397 posts)We're capable of discerning your opinion from your first thread on the subject today. What is the point of posting it repeatedly?

(13,111 posts)We are indeed living in bizzaro times when a Fox news commentator sounds sane. Sheperd Smith does seem to get it right sometimes. Amazing....

(3,209 posts)His constant ranting about it is getting old and it's a ploy only an administration that doesn't know wtf it is doing will use.
Have you see the list of people "the president" follows himself on Twitter? Very biased and slanted. Nothing of real substance as far as journalism goes.
If they are screening questions, there is never going to be any thing of meaning asked or answered.
