1. "Me first" should be his middle name.
But she obviously did not marry him for his charm and personality and intelligence.

3. Since he's supposedly got a stair phobia
He probably wants her to catch him if he stumbles; I think she'd probably let him fall.

8. I always joked when I was in the Army that I believed in "leading from the front"
It sounds good, the Platoon Leader is the first one up in the morning, leading the platoon on assaults and dangerous jobs, setting the example, etcetera. However, I took it a bit further and I used to joke with my subordinates that I thought it meant that I was the first in the line to get chow and the first to go home at the end of the day!!
Then I'd point out that it was customary for officers in the civil war era to hang out behind the masses of Soldiers in battles and shoot those enlisted men who attempted to flee the fighting! In reality I was very popular with my platoon. They knew my humor and in reality my actions were contrary everything I joked about. on Mounted (vehicle) patrols, my vehicle was always in the lead and my Platoon Sergeant (my second in command) always was in the rear. From our experience those two positions were always the most likely to be hit with IEDs or attacked. The same went for most other shitty or dangerous jobs my platoon did. Apparently trump believes the stuff I joke about for real though. First one to take credit and the first one to pass the blame when something goes wrong! |

10. Not only that, he threw her under the bus at his rally. Bigly.
When he was bragging about his incredible bigly fantastic turnout with women and how the polls got it all wrong he said of Melania - "My wife said; What is wrong with you and the women?" and implied that even she got it all wrong.
My thought was - I don't think she was talking about the polls you dolt. |

11. This is silly.
There are so many big things wrong with Trump, why focus on his failiur to comply outdated gender roles?

21. And why does being a gentleman dictate who goes first up the steps?
A progressive site should not be criticizing someone for not following gender norms.
(I agree that treating people in a kind and respectful manner is important. But that has nothing to do with gender dictating who walks up the steps first.) |

17. Well
Trump doesn't have a lock on this kind of disrespect for a spouse. Lest we forget, there was a candidate from our side who publicly humiliated his wife on stage in front of a massive crowd for a victory speech, brushing her back and barking "don't stand next to me."
I recall having been so shocked by that moment that it left an indelible mark. There are 10,000 things to be appalled about with Trump. But let's not be hypocritical here. There have been worse things done to wives than walking in front of them. It's crass, but then he's not alone in that. |

18. Pictures of Trump couple walking separately up the WH steps
to meet the Obamas who were a couple together.
Trump felt no need to walk with his escort. Then Trump walked in alone as the Obamas helped her in. |
