(11,148 posts)By someone in DC on the hush hush.
He's once removed from Washington, carries a decent stick in the Conservative community and he is untouchable in Ohio. A Senator or congressman would be commiting suicide by pushing this publicly in that toxic mess.

Pence will be dogged constantly over the next 3 years and will virtually guarantee us the House and maybe Senate in 2018. Then if enough dirt on him emerges, we can impeach, remove and make Nancy Pelosi POTUS.

(10,606 posts)I thought w.would have destroyed the party, instead they control the majority of statehouses and now the presidency. In fact, before this election many were celebrating the demise of the Republican party. With gerrymandering I hardly think a majority is Congress is guaranteed.

(7,823 posts)I've gained a measure of respect for him although I will keep him on a short leash.
If any Republican will follow through I believe it would be Kasich. There is no love loss between him and Grump.

(2,897 posts)opens up 2020 as a possibility. Sure, he can run regardless in 2020, but he would have next to no success taking down an incumbent.
Expect to see other potential 2020 contenders that don't want to wait 8 years to run for president to start tooting this horn as well. You think Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz really want to wait 8 more years now that they can't challenge Hillary Clinton in 2020?
