I am trying to guess how far Trump would go.

So, he is completely out of control. So far he has denigrated the judicial system and now the press. It is getting closer and closer to what a tin pot dictator would do. Vladimir Putin is widely suspected of ordering/having ordered the murder of political opponents. Trump made it pretty clear he is fine with Putin and admire his leadership skills..

Every day, Trump gets more frustrated as his administration careen out of control. I am worried that he is crazy enough to consider the unthinkable. If he did, would there be anybody in his administration to tell him to stop ?

2. yes indeed. It all depends on how far Mc Connell and Ryan want it to go.

They could stop the whole thing dead in its tracks if they wanted to.

3. Intel and press help some in the balance of his power

He'd probably have to get our intelligence agencies and the press on his side to be able to get away with doing physical harm to opponents. I'm doubtful that will happen anytime soon. Then again, he might be able hold them twitter-hostage too.

4. How far can he go?

Is a bigger question. How far until a major Republican callsfor investigations, hearings etc, and puts country in front of party? He will go as far as they let him.
