I just made a very depressing post on a thread started by Nance Greggs. So I thought...

I'd make up for that by a more positive post, this a share from an email my cousin Cynthia sent.

Trump is (inadvertently) making America Great (again).

> 1. Unprecedented levels of ongoing civic engagement.

> 2. Millions of Americans now know who their state and federal representatives are without having to google.

> 3. Millions of Americans are exercising more. They're holding signs and marching every week.

> 4. Alec Baldwin is great again. Everyone's forgotten he's kind of a jerk.

> 5. The Postal Service is enjoying the influx cash due to stamps purchased by millions of people for letter and postcard campaigns.

> 6. Likewise, the pharmaceutical industry is enjoying record growth in sales of anti-depressants.

> 7. Millions of Americans now know how to call their elected officials and know exactly what to say to be effective.

> 8. Footage of town hall meetings is now entertaining.

> 9. Tens of millions of people are now correctly spelling words like emoluments, narcissist, fascist, misogynist, holocaust and cognitive dissonance.

> 10. Everyone knows more about the rise of Hitler than they did last year.

> 11. Everyone knows more about legislation, branches of power and how checks and balances work.

> 12. Marginalized groups are experiencing a surge in white allies.

> 13. White people in record numbers have just learned that racism is not dead. (See #6)

> 14. White people in record numbers also finally understand that Obamacare IS the Affordable Care Act.

> 15. Stephen Colbert's "Late Night" finally gained the elusive #1 spot in late night talk shows.

> 16. "Mike Pence" has donated millions of dollars to Planned Parenthood since Nov. 9th.

> 17. Melissa FREAKING McCarthy.

> 18. Travel ban protesters put $24 million into ACLU coffers in just 48 hours, enabling them to hire 200 more attorneys. Lawyers are now heroes.

> 19. As people seek veracity in their news sources, respected news outlets are happily reporting a substantial increase in subscriptions, a boon to a struggling industry vital to our democracy.

> 20. Live streaming court cases and congressional sessions are now as popular as the Kardashians.

> 21. Massive cleanup of facebook friend lists.

> 22. People are reading classic literature again. Sales of George Orwell's "1984" increased by 10,000% after the inauguration. (Yes, that is true. 10,000%. 9th grade Lit teachers all over the country are now rock stars.)

> 23. More than ever before, Americans are aware that education is important. Like, super important.

> 24. Now, more than anytime in history, everyone believes that anyone can be President.

Just completely backward from how he wanted to.

70% of the country is against him, that is as UNITED as I've ever seen the United States

Those tens of millions were all illegal immigrants spotted on November 8 riding on buses from Massachusetts to New Hampshire.

I recognize your post as sarcasm. Some may not (like another poster on this thread), so it's usually worth adding some indicator, to avoid misunderstandings, such as

I was one of the jurors. I too was unsure whether it was sarcasm. (Saying that millions of illegals were bussed in)

But because I couldn't be sure, I felt I had no choice and voted to remove the post.

EDIT: Oh...I am wrong. It was the post above that that was also alerted on. So I mistook your response to mean that one by DDySiegs (another newbie). I guess that one passed the mustard without a

I do not know how it could have.

I don't want to speak out of turn, but I don't think it was the first time round the block for "Post removed."

The sarcasm in DDySiegs' was just the right side of OTT for me to feel confident about its intention.

I am sorry that I failed to expressly indicate it was sarcasm. I thought it was obvious ( after all the total population of Massachusetts is about 6 million, so it seemed utterly clear). As noted I am a newbie, so can somebody tell me where to find things like the sarcasm graphic and how to use it. So again sorry I didnt make it clearer.

Even long-time members can fall foul of this - tone is something it's difficult to read in text online (what you wrote was hyped enough that it made me laugh). It's even worse if folks don't know you yet (we do get quite a few people signing up just to cause trouble, which puts folks here on edge sometimes). The person who challenged you above and is no longer with us was out of order in what they wrote, which is one reason why they and their comment are gone.

You can just add some verbal indication if you want (/sarcasm or whatever). The graphic I posted is one quite a few here seem to like, and you access it by clicking on "smilies" at the top of the reply box, then the box with three dots ... which will bring up more smilies, and is there at top left of the new selection that appears. Just click on it or any of the others, and they'll be inserted in your post wherever the cursor is.

We are making our voices heard, they failed to ignite during the campaign, sadly

Media did ignore, did play favorites, did not delve into policy and detail. We do not
deserve to elect anyone without full knowledge of what they will do, and on that criteria
Election 2016 was an epic fail. The press was somnambulant.

We are catching fire, I am regularly approached by someone exploring political leanings,
when the anti-Trump engages all barriers are down

he didn't elucidate his radical right agenda. Most people are now surprised
at the effects of environmental deregulation, the Wall Street cronies in his
cabinet, the catering to Big Oil. He didn't tell us, and no one asked. Even if
they had, everytime you said something about it, the line was "The 2 parties
are the same" or "Hillary will be just like Trump".

Free college, $15 wage, nothing woke up the public. I think older folks were
resentful of the freebies going to young folks.

Donald T. will be saying..." see... this is what I meant to do. It was all a ploy to get us back on track by fooling everone into believing I was a fascist. I planned the whole thing."

Spoken from behind bars of course.
