(58,785 posts)They're very real and apparently almost impossible to treat effectively, but they are not considered an illness. You'll have crossed paths with a number of people with various degrees and types of personality disorder. Unfortunately, they're far from rare but are only diagnosed as a disorder when the traits are so strong that they seriously negatively affect a person's ability to function in the world.
I think a cluster B personality disorder would explain just about everything.

It is also reported that he does not like to be alone, and orders his aides to spend the off duty hours with him,
which really means, i suspect, to have someone to listen to his constant babbling.
Reportedly he has not been sleeping well, either. Says he misses his "home" at the Tower and/or MarLego.
to comfort himself, he eats multiple servings of junk food at night.
which explains the decidedly portly look the past month.

(18,714 posts)Trump is the type of narcissistic sociopath that would lash out against those he feels aren't sufficiently bending to his authority! Wait, that's exactly what he's doing!!!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
