In my area, it is not uncommon to hear of a car driving into a building.S

Somebody's house, a place of business, etc.

Because of this, I would not want to live in a house close to a busy highway.

Does this happen in other places?

For example:

Father of 5 killed when truck crashes into his home, teen driver arrested, coroner says

It happened just after 11:15 p.m. Thursday on Tripp Street in Williamston.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. —

A father of five was killed when a truck crashed into his Anderson County home, according to Coroner Greg Shore.

The truck crashed into the home just after 11:15 p.m. Thursday on Tripp Street and Whilden Drive in Williamston.

Shore said a man in the home was killed when the truck crashed through the wall into the bedroom. He said there were five children in the home at the time, and they were not injured. The mother was at work, Shore said.

Shore said it is a tragedy but a miracle that the children were not harmed because one child was in the bedroom with the father at the time of the crash.

One can actually have them installed and in working order on a vehicle.

Some of the vehicles I see in the low country of SC could really use a safety check. Many would be stopped by the police and towed in other states.

Someone crashed into her kitchen. Thankfully, no one was in it at the time.

Intersection of two residential streets...

Since the vast majority of homes have a "road" to them, you are more likely to get hit in your house by a car on a residential street than from a car off a busy highway.

To be safe you can hang a hammock close to the ceiling and sleep in that. That way when the car comes through your house it will just go right underneath you LOL
