Fox News defends CNN from Trump ban: CNN reporting is not fake. It has same standards as Fox News

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith defended CNN on Friday after the news organization was barred from spokesman Sean Spicer’s question-and-answer session at the White House.

"For the record, 'fake news' refers to stories that are created, often by entities pretending to be news organizations, solely to draw clicks and views and are based on nothing of substance," Smith said during his program.

"In short, fake news is made up nonsense delivered for financial gain. CNN’s reporting was not fake news. Its journalists followed the same standards to which other news organizations, including Fox News, adhere," he added.

Everyone else is probably rooting Trump on. Hell, Hannity probably had his daily pro-Trump orgasm when he heard the news.

The last analysis I read about FOX gave them a 33% news content with the rest being BS. Aparently that is the sweet spot to convince weaker older minds (don't say it, lol) that they are legitimate. Shep probably represents the "news" portion better than most there. I would have doubts that even msnbc has that much hard news content, mostly just commentary.

That being said, yes I agree with you that CNN is leagues ahead of the rest. They are news with a world wide reach. Not fake news.

So what's he gonna say, CNN is better? Of course not. It's just good that he said what he said where he said it.

it's probably the best we can expect from a competing news agency. My thing is that at least he said it.

He has always been the one willing to cut against he grain over there when truth demands it. I'll give FOX some respect (on this matter) if others there start saying things like this.

But that respect should be tempered, imo, by the awareness that his contrarian position over there is exactly what allows them to claim to be fair and balanced. That makes him window-dressing, and an enabler, whether he is aware of that or not.

CNN not fake--pretty mich true, although giving Trump the lion's share of coverage during the election campaign was borderline fraud.

But having the same standards as Fox? That is close to grounds for a defamation suit.

to molest journalism on a daily basis. They are happily following the downward spiral into fascism. Until of course Pedobart decides they're not loyal enough to Tiny Hands Fuhrer and turn on them. By then it'll be too late.

He has to have some kind of leverage over management to still be there still going off their reservation frequently.
