"You stole my boy friend in the 11th grade!" "Dad blamed me for breaking his fishing pole, when YOU did it!"
I am SO tried of the determined few on DU that can't let the Bernie Hillary divide go!
1. There is no doubt Hillary was robbed of the presidency!
2. Bernie Sanders is an independent, but votes more like a New Deal Democrat than others in the party such as Joe Manchin.
3. Saying the Democratic Party needs a new approach at both the state and national level is NOT an indictment of Hillary Clinton.
4. Saying Bernie can be a bit preachy and unrealistic is valid!
Folks, we are facing the loss of America democracy as we know it, so don't want to hear anymore shit about Bernie v Hillary, aka who stole who's boyfriend. Give it a rest and fight with Tom Perez AND Keith Ellison for the future!

(11,686 posts)They both care about us and the USA. Yes, they go about it in different ways but they are both working for it. I think taking these problems we have from different directions is good because that does not get us into tunnel vision trying to fix it. Just listen open minded to Bernie's ideas as you do to Hillary's because they both have very good points and will work together and with Perez and Ellison to fix this. I personally like the fact that all four of them have different ideas and are willing to work them to a point where they can combine them to work for us. Look forward not back.

(284 posts)Those of us who have issues with Bernie, whether policy-based or based on his campaign conduct (ot both), are sick of people trying to force us to love him. It's an almost cult-like insistence that not only love him but practically deify him. I don't like Bernie Sanders. No amount of shoving him down my throat is going to convince me I want this to become the Bernie Sanders Party.

What you describe, NoGoodNamesLeft, is why I used to like Chris Hayes on MSNBC. Now, unfortunately, not so much.

(81,440 posts)Let's just say some of his quite-obvious preferences grew tiresome. Particularly when one does not share those same preferences.
Not trying to stir things up here, 'eh? We all need to stop bickering and unite behind our leadership team!
What I CAN say about the Ellison vs Perez debates here is - the BEST PART OF THEM ALL was seeing Donna Brazile pass the gavel! I am OVER-THE-MOON delighted about that. That alone will help our party! That alone is worth celebrating!
Donna Brazile always seems to make it a point to take a feather duster to a gunfight. Because she forgot her wet noodle collection at home that day. I'm convinced that part of the reason Al Gore didn't do better was because she was his campaign manager. She is NO fighter. She's one of those flaccid milquetoast "oh... okay..." Democrats. DISMAL!
Donna Brazile fires people up the way sitting inside the freezer section of the grocery store would do.

(11,746 posts)I have never worshipped any candidate. Frankly I see little difference between Sanders and Clinton and I have said so many times. The pro Hillary people were totally fine with that. By contrast I was immediately blocked by the Sanders people and attacked in every way imaginable.
I am not bickering over Sanders versus Clinton. I do blame a fraction of Sanders supporters for being impractical, illogical, and downright nasty.
I don't see redemption for people like Susan Sarandon. I don't see putting any trust in them or reliance.on them as being functional or wise. We will have to do this without them. Such is life.
And get off my lawn! Grrrrrr.

(33,956 posts)it didn't end well for ANY of us....and with the outside interference, I don't think it would have made any difference who was on the ticket.
Russia used Rove's tactics (on steroids) against us.
He got a dumb stooge to run for POTUS--someone who would say anything for the right amount of money or favor and those that the less visceral among the human population could identify with
He got an evil partisan VP--with a wink/wink that he was always waiting to take over in the wings if anything went south---someone the christian right and the partisan republicans could identify with
then they fucked with the voting machines in certain areas.
IF we want to undo this nightmare....everyone is going to have to suck it up and fight for the republic because it is in imminent danger.
I caucused for Hillary against Obama. I was called a racist.
I voted for Obama twice.
I caucused for Bernie against Hillary. I was called a sexist.
I cast my vote for Hillary.
Fighting for this country is worth any insult to my feelings or my pride.

(284 posts)the Bernie people won't stop trying to delegitimize our first female nominee by saying she rigged the primary, fucking asking her supporters to apologize for "voting for the wrong candidate in the primaries," attacking her supporters by saying Bernie would have won, etc. Hillary supporters are always expected to be the adults in the room. We're supposed to give all of the respect while expecting none in return. All I want is people to stop disrespecting my candidate and the inspiration I draw from her. Hillary means a lot to me as an inspiration and role model; can I fucking have that without being attacked for it all of the time?

(3,568 posts)and over..." It's divisive, counter productive, off putting, and pointless..
Bernie Sanders is still a U.S. Senator, so it's entirely normal that we hear from him. There's a lot going on and I wish we'd hear more from other congresspeople on our side. Hillary is pretty much retired for the time being but she can and does speak up whenever she chooses and her voice is always welcome. The competition between the two has been over for quite some time now. It's history and no longer a current, or relevant, event. They've moved way past that now and I wish some of the members here could do us all a favor and do the same. It' OVER, and, if I may be allowed the indulgence of a very obscure reference from a particularly gruesome scene in a tv series, "There's no going back, Bob."
