Bernie's blistering criticisms of Trump knocks it out of the park to a crowd of THOUSANDS in Topeka!

Bernie Sanders: "I was … told that Kansas was a Republican state."

Sen. Bernie Sanders delivered the keynote speech for the Kansas Democratic Party’s annual convention Saturday night in Topeka.

Some of Bernie's closing remarks (below) inspired me to tears. What an amazing man! (I hand-typed this quote directly from a video of Bernie's rally in Topeka, Kansas. Check out the above link to watch the video. This rally gives me renewed hope.)

"I understand in Vermont, here and all across this country people are nervous and they are apprehensive and you have reason to feel that way, but two things:

"Number 1: Nobody has the right to throw their hands up and say, 'I quit. I am not going to be involved in the struggle.' Despair is not an option.

"Number 2: Remember that Trump lost the popular vote by almost 3 million votes. He has a mandate for NOTHING. And on every major issue, the vast majority of the American people are on our side -- not his side. The truth is that Donald Trump has changed the rules about political engagement. We have never had a president who is a pathological liar. We have never had a pathological president who was so cynical about what he said during the campaign and what he did the day after he took office and our job is to respond accordingly.

"We can defeat the Trump agenda. We can create a progressive America if millions of people stand up and fight back and we are beginning to see that already. We are seeing it here at this incredible turnout. We saw it a month ago with the woman's march that brought out millions. We saw it today in 130 congressional offices. There were people outside those offices saying to the Republican members of Congress: 'Have the guts to meet with us! Do not repeal the Affordable Care Act!'

So, my message to you all is: We are the majority and our job, which is not an easy job, is to bring people together. To demand of your members of Congress, of your members of Senate, of your governor, to start listening to the people -- not to wealthy campaign contributors.

Kansas, I know that you are ground zero for trickle-down economics and I look forward to working with you in the years to come. If you transform Kansas, as I know you can, we are going to transform this country.

Thank you all very much."

Personal note from BigBearJohn:

Trump thinks he can excite a crowd to resurrect his popularity? Man 'o man! Bernie handed Trump his lunch. Bernie's rally in Kansas was a great counter measure to Trump's recent rally. His speech was inspiring and new. Bernie is taking off the gloves. He is getting TOUGH with Trump and I LOVE IT!!!#$!!!

Note: The website I quoted had an OLD picture on its website. I can't find a current picture of the crowd, but the video of his speech shows the size and articles about the event say the event had 4,000 attendees.

her from going out there. And it's really too bad she's not speaking up more.

I don't think she has said anything about Trump since she conceded the election last November.

And if she has and I've missed that, an advance apology for my ignorance.

HRC was our candidate for President of the United States less than 4 months ago! Remember all those claims of her "extraordinary leadership" and "vast experience." How long of a vacation does she need before she starts acting like a leader? Is this how leaders lead? She is still in a unique position to mobilize tens of thousands of people to the Progressive cause, but instead she remains silent?

Or are you saying that as she is a private citizen, she can't make any more contributions to our society?

Such a shame that the media ignored it to report on a scolding tweet to the new DNC leadership team and a presidential tweet stoking the "rigged system" conspiracy theories. These were not the things Democrats wanted to be talking about on Sunday morning.
