How? The truth. Even if it upset the UK Ministry of Information and the UK government. Was the best thing against Nazi propaganda. Was also the best thing against the Soviet Union. It will be the best thing against any corrupt and fascist administration of any country. The truth does set people free. Eventually.

It's unbelievable that news outlets were excluded Friday. It's a stretch to exclude buzzfeed; but NYT and The Guardian are international sources for other papers. To sideline the BBC though!! That takes some steel nadgers! The BBC is the indifferent definitive source for English language broadcast media. Not just in the UK, but all of the anglophone world and beyond. That the administration chose to cut them out is not just a petty retaliation, but an affront to the transparency of government in all the Free World. This is a disgrace. I am ashamed of the presidential administration. Despite all efforts, the United States of America elected a Trump administration, and to the disappointment of us all we must live with our national embarrassment. We must work and strive to amend such repercussions as have been laden upon the liberty of this already great nation.

The fourth estate is our best advocate.

There is no space for compromise in the first amendment!

The Forth estate is the last bastion of checks and balances in a nation this big. Truth, is truth, weather or not 45 wishes to believe in it.

" As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master."
Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"

...just makes BBC more credible. The WH joins China, Iran, Apartheid-era South Africa, Zimbabwe, Myanmar, Uzbekistan and Pakistan in banning the BBC.

Also BBC is the world's largest news organisation. Bigger than CNN, yet with far less cash ($450 mil for BBC, $700 mil for CNN). Then again I have respect for CNN too... Gulf War 1 made CNN, as did WW2 for the Beeb.

I have seven news apps I trust, and another 10 I trust to be "themselves." Respectfully, BBC is usually 20 minutes ahead of any American news, and an hour or more ahead of international news. I still watch BBCA, even though I haven't been across the pond in years.

However, in this new "News" regime, soon I'll be lucky to get any information more real than the "citizens" (surfs) of "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea." (45's model for US.)

A free press is how we proved Nixon cheated, and 45 doesn't want that happing to him. Fuck that.
The truth is a weapon to guard the masses from tyranny, and the Forth Estate cannot be silenced*
