for some minor surgery that I'm having tomorrow morning. Laparoscopic and ambulatory, so I should be home and tucked into my own bed by late in the day. Can't hurt to ask the Universe for good mojo, right?
See you on the flip side!

(4,188 posts)I've got a stack of light reading materials all lined up.
Doc says I'll probably just sleep for a day or two.

(4,188 posts)I'll stay out of work for about a week, then work from home for another few days. No commuting into the city for at least 10-14 days, per doc's orders. Can't say I'm sad about that!

(7,173 posts)bedside table all fixed up beforehand -- a big jug of cool water and a glass, lots of light reading material, some vitamin c tablets to take every hour or so (GREAT for healing!). And best wishes! I know it'll go fine, my partner and I have both had laparoscopic and it's amazing.

(4,188 posts)Vitamin C! She had surgery recently and said it really helped with coming out of the anesthesia. Tablet fully charged and loaded with fashion mags, trashy novels, and sci-fi stuff.
Doc says I'll be sore for a couple of days, but able to get around very shortly.

(7,173 posts)the surgeon order Vitamin C in my drip during surgery. If you can talk your surgeon into doing that, it's really quite remarkable. Here's a page from Dr Weil that talks about it:

(34,076 posts)I had a laparoscopy in 1989. (They lasered off some endometriosis on one of my ovaries) The worst part was the gas they pumped me up with. I was up and about right away. I was taking care of a 3 year old at the time, but every case is different.
