Yes! This needs to be repeated over and over and louder than their weaseling response that Sessions didn't actually talk about anything substantial at those meetings (that didn't happen)

No matter his intention, his interpretation, or his subsequent backpeddling, he perjured himself. The content is irrelevant, at least with respect to his breach of federal law regarding perjury.

Omission means that you did not provide information that was relevant. A lie of omission would be:

Panel: Please tell us about your activities during the campaign, where there any communications with foreign governments.
Sessions: During the campaign I spoke with many people and I managed the fundraising activities in the Southern part of the country.

Sessions knows he spoke with foreign governments but he failed to disclose in response to an open ended question about the subject.

In this case Sessions stated actively, that he had no contact with Russians. That was a direct lie not a lie of omission. He actively mislead the Panel about his contact with the Russians not by omitting that he had them, but by actively stating that he did not.

It wouldn't be the first time.

Sessions, go back to your dogpatch. (I'm not downing Alabama - my daughter and granddaughter and granddaughter-to-be live there, as I did for a number of years.

But the GOP there operates their own kind of dogpatch, and never bothers to clean up the shit in the dog yard.
