Rachel Maddow Makes History By Finishing In The Top 10 Most Viewed Shows On All TV

http://www.politicususa.com/2017/03/05/rachel-maddow-history-finishing-top-10-viewed-shows-tv.html?google_editors_picks=true

Rachel Maddow's MSNBC show is growing so much so fast that she is drawing more viewers than broadcast television networks. Maddow recently finished in top ten among all networks and programs in her timeslot.

MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” (M-F 9-10pm) finished in the top 10 among all networks in the time period on Thursday, March 2, according to Nielsen.

The primetime show delivered 2.5 million total viewers on Thursday and ranked #6 ahead of three broadcast networks: Fox Broadcasting, Univision and ABC. “The Rachel Maddow Show” also finished in the top 10 multiple times – including 14 out of the previous 19 days.

Among cable news networks, “The Rachel Maddow Show” topped CNN in both total viewers and in the key news A25-54 demographic on Thursday (2.5 million total viewers and 610,000 viewers A25-54 vs. CNN’s 1.3 million total viewers and 497,000 viewers A25-54).

During primetime in February 2017, more people watched MSNBC than CNN. “The Rachel Maddow Show” saw significant growth across the board and finished #2 in cable news for both total viewers and A25-54 demo. “The Rachel Maddow Show” delivered its biggest total viewer audience ever for a month. “The Rachel Maddow Show” also beat CNN’s regularly scheduled programs for the 45th straight month. The show posted its best demo delivery in the time period since November 2012.

When a cable news show is finishing in the top ten over 14 of the last 19 days and is defeating broadcast networks, that is a sign that something special is happening.

in the world.

What she is doing is a solid hour of journalism every night.

You would have to put together hundreds of hours of "news" shows to find enough to equal her show for each day.

I also think she and people like her are in danger. The lesson we better learn and quick, and I hope she learns this, we are in a war with Russia and criminals in the WH and they treat their enemies (aka patriots and honest journalists) very badly.

I assume she has a bodyguard, if not that would worry me terribly. I wonder if WE realize what is really going on and who REALLY is behind it all and just how dangerous they are, do we?

I have to guess that anybody who's on TV every day has a bodyguard or several. But now there are not only Trump supporters but powerful Russians who wish her ill.

I really don't know how she does it--all we see is top-notch reporting and her still-cheery personality, while there must be some very serious security concerns behind the scenes.

Then, forget living off propaganda supplied by the White House. Go out side of the WH's spin chamber and find real people who have facts. Dig, analyze, dig, analyze, etc. There must be a hundred other news threads that are important and would sustain reporters for months to years to mine and exploit the data. Maybe the other reporters have become too lazy to live outside of the WH press room.

... showing all the Russian connections to T-rump's cabal, Chris Matthews and Brian Williams took her time-slot for a "special" program that basically regurgitated everything she already told us previously.

It's all very sexist .. "let the big boys take this now". But their "special" fell flat. Williams --what an empty suit! And Matthews can't shut up for two seconds to let anyone else speak.

Rachel just keeps smiling and doing her really amazing show. Someday journalists might well be receiving the prestigious "Rachel Maddow Saving Democracy" award.

If the corporate "big boys" will allow it, of course.
