You even say right there in your little speech that immigrants worked 10-12 hours a day for 6 or 7 days a week for no minimum wage* because "they worked not for themselves" but rather for their children and grandchildren -- and do you know why? So that their children and grandchildren would NOT HAVE TO work 10-12 hours a day for 6 or 7 days a week for no minimum wage!!

And do you know what would have helped these immigrants provide for their children and grandchildren even better? If they HADN'T HAD to work 10-12 hours a day for 6 or 7 days a week so they could spend more time with them, and if there HAD BEEN a minimum wage so that they could provide more for them. I do not believe one bit that decent pay and hours would have in any way diminished the passions, work ethic, and accomplishments of America's immigrants.

And as for slaves being "immigrants"? That's just dumb.
