How many people are aware that we have weather modification in this country?
Weather modification has been ongoing for decades in the United States. It was perfected during the Vietnam War leading to the ENMOD Treaty signed by the United States. However, this has not stopped a whole host of weather modification programs and experiments being initiated or are now ongoing in the United States and with increasing frequency in many foreign countries.
The profound impact of these ever-increasing and highly sophisticated weather experiments and programs are radically changing our climate and local weather conditions in many areas. Your local weathermen are not reporting these events leading many to believe that some man-made weather is either extreme or unusual...thus, the public is unaware of many of these programs.
These exponentially growing programs have no government or public oversight, limited oversight in a very few states which allow them, and no government or public oversight or consent for the rest of them. These programs change the climate, the micro-climates needed for watersheds, negatively impact tree health, and agriculture crop production. NOAA lists some of these programs but most are not listed due to their experimental nature, military classification, university experiments, and failures to notify NOAA by various states, counties, cities, weather modification companies, and private individuals and corporations who may all modifying your weather.
Your local weather forecasters either don't know about or deliverately won't report on ongoing experimental weather modification programs letting the public believe that the weather that they are experiencing is unusual or extremem without identifying any ongoing weather modification programs. These weather modification experiments, if known by the public, could lead to liability lawsuits due to damage caused by these programs to be levied against those conducting these experiments, which include, but are not limited to, private indidivduals, corporations, military experiments, and programs initiated by cities, counties, states, and other government agencies.
U.S. Senate Bill S601 (introduced by Senator Kay Bail Hutchison-Texas), was not passed by the U.S. Senate in 2010. Senator Hutchison has introduced a version of this bill each year since 2005, and the public has lobbied successfully to stop passage. It is highly likely that Senator Hutchison will again introduce a similar version of this bill in the Senate in 2011 or 2012. This bill allows anyone to mitigate or modify your weather without public notification, consent, oversight or debate. This bill could also be added as an amendment to other legislation and passed. The implication for agriculture, watersheds, water supplies, and who will receive the benefits or the negative consequences are hidden from public view.
I read how it is used for ski resorts, sometimes by farmers...why aren't we using this technology for the greater good, bringing water to dry areas like Africa!, stop hurricanes and other natural disasters etc.
Cloud-seeding experts say their efforts boosted snow totals at Summit County ski areas by 12 to 22 inches last winter, producing an additional 8,850 acre-feet of water in the Blue River Basin.
We believe that this valuable service of providing additional snow was achieved in a cost effective manner, says a report filed with the state by Western Weather Consultants, recommending that cloud-seeding weather modifications proceed on a routine basis each year to help bolster the states water supplies and to enhance early season skiing at the targeted resorts.
England has been suffering from drought...and floods..I wonder if the Government is cloud seeding to prevent drought?

A torrential downpour would really help out in Colorado right now.

Posting this link to a conspiracy woo, chemtrail site to show where the information in the OP originates:
http://www.agriculturedefensecoalition.org/?q=weather-modifications
Site is run by Rosalind Peterson, who has appeared on Alex Jones' show as an expert on chemtrails.
You may want to reconsider your sourcing. First your anti-vaccination threads, and now linking to chemtrail sites?
Thanks

(28,017 posts)There are none. Instead, there is a hell of a lot of smoke. A friend of mine drove out there to pick up his son. He could not believe stuff that he saw, and he was a good distance away.
This is an unbelievable inferno.

(44,333 posts)fingers crossed and hoping for an end to dry and hot for Colorado.

(28,017 posts)He said that June isn't even the dry fire season. That's august-september.
Not much in the forecasts at the moment. Except heat and dry.

(16,926 posts)Cloud seeding is the process of spreading either dry ice, or more commonly, silver iodide aerosols, into the upper part of clouds to try to stimulate the precipitation process and form rain.
Since most rainfall starts through the growth of ice crystals from super-cooled cloud droplets (droplets colder than the freezing point, 32 deg. F or 0 deg. C) in the upper parts of clouds, the silver iodide particles are meant to encourage the growth of new ice particles.
The history of cloud seeding has experienced uncertain results because it can never be known whether a cloud that rains after seeding might have rained anyway. This is because seeding is performed on clouds that look like they have some potential for producing rain.

I guess we could just seed chemtrai...I mean, contrails!

(322 posts)Weather modification is the act of intentionally manipulating or altering the weather. The most common form of weather modification is cloud seeding to increase rain or snow, usually for the purpose of increasing the local water supply[1]. Weather modification can also have the goal of preventing damaging weather, such as hail or hurricanes, from occurring; or of provoking damaging weather against an enemy or rival, as a tactic of military or economic warfare.
1977 UN Environmental Modification Convention
Main article: Environmental Modification Convention
Weather modification, particularly hostile weather warfare, was addressed by the "United Nations General Assembly Resolution 31/72, TIAS 9614 Convention[20] on the Prohibition of Military or Any Other Hostile Use of Environmental Modification Techniques" was adopted. The Convention was: Signed in Geneva May 18, 1977; Entered into force October 5, 1978; Ratification by U.S. President December 13, 1979; U.S. ratification deposited at New York January 17, 1980.[21]
[edit] US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration keeps records of weather modification projects on behalf of the Secretary of Commerce, under authority of Public Law 92-205, 15 USC § 330B, enacted in 1971.[22]
[edit] Proposed US Legislation
2005 U.S. Senate Bill 517 and U.S. House Bill 2995 U.S. Senate Bill 517[23] and U.S. House Bill 2995[24] were two bills proposed in 2005 that would have expanded experimental weather modification, to establish a Weather Modification Operations and Research Board, and implemented a national weather modification policy. Neither were made into law. Former Texas State Senator John N. Leedom was the key lobbyist on behalf of the weather modification bills.
2007 U.S. Senate Bill 1807 & U.S. House Bill 3445 Senate Bill 1807 and House Bill 3445, identical bills introduced July 17, 2007, proposed to establish a Weather Mitigation Advisory and Research Board to fund weather modification research [25][26]

(51,666 posts)You have to do it when atmospheric conditions are right for the production of clouds and rain. They haven't had those conditions.
Cloud seeding has been established science and actively used for decades. When I was in college my academic adviser and employer in the microbiology department was doing long-term studies of soil microbes in areas where cloud seeding had been done. Never found any evidence that microbes were adversely affected, BTW, in case anybody's curious.

does that mean that any private individual can pay for this? Disaster capitalism anyone?
In northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin, three days of torrential downpour forced nearly 300 people from their homes, drowned more than a dozen zoo animals, and caused $80 million in infrastructure damage.
Could corporations use this, to work with the corporate media, to create disaster/distractions?

Which part are you questioning? The fact that weather modification is available to private entities via private corporations?

(22,541 posts)to the rain gods thing. Or maybe it hasn't happened yet. I dunno. 106.7 KBPI Denver.
I'm sure it's sexist for those DJs to do it, considering the source.
To me, though, it seems that lots of pagan rituals contained partial nudity especially when related to rain which is connected to fertility.
So if some pagan group got together and performed a rain ritual that actually flashed female breasts it's cool with me and greatly appreciated. Probably more useful than cloud seeding.

(51,666 posts)If the good people of CoSpgs or Larimer County, who undoubtedly voted against every tax they could, want to personally cough up the money to pay for cloud seeding, I'm sure there is a company willing to do it. No guarantees of success, of course.

(8,571 posts)The source you are quoting is from a website that promotes chemtrail CT, which is not allowed on this website. Furthermore in going to the link which you didn't provide (which is a copyright issue), in the very same write-up that you are copying and pasting, they deny climate change and global warming. This is the type of woo-woo that should not be posted here.
Thanks for understanding,
