Our nation is being destroyed from within. Where is the outrage?

Science, the environment, education, healthcare coverage is being taken away. The human suffering is going to be intense as all these billionaires connected to Trump make a killing from massive tax cuts and oil drilling.

Every government department is being dismantled bit by bit. We have a fascist in the White House who has lied time and time gain, even to his own base, surrounded by a cabinet that benefits from his ties to Russia.

One question - Where is the chorus of outrage from Democratic lawmakers?

Not just our lawmakers, though I would feel better if more of them were making noise about this. Are we really going to just watch as Twitler and his Nazis dismantle our democratic republic? Seriously?

All of mine have expressed outrage publicly and have responded to my concerns when I write to them about these issues.

Short of that, what are you expecting? The Democratic Party is the minority party and is doing what they can with the tools they have. They can't just take over the government--that's why we have elections.

to be informed about what is going on and the consequences of Trump's actions.

The most passionate opposition I have seen is from the woman who confronted Sean Spicer in the Apple store. Our lawmakers are giving Trump a free ride. I expect to see passion. I expect to see our nation defended by those who are elected into a position where they need to provide a powerful and highly vocal opposition.

They aren't mindreaders. People who contacted their members of Congress and Senator have already changed the narrative in the DP, and those lawmakers are showing resistance. If more people do it, then it creates even more pressure.

Elect and forget and hope they just do as you want is what got us into this mess in the first place.

Tomorrow my Senator has a staffer out at the local library to meet with constituents and I will be there. To voice my opinions on variou topics repeating what I have stated in multiple emails and phone calls.

I have donated to the ACLU, Sierra Club, AARP and the Alliance for Retired Americans all of whom are doing what they can to push back against this GOP agenda. I wonder if the OP can say the same of anything similar.

Perhaps the OP missed the Women's March and the numerous protests across this country. Perhaps the OP has missed the news of the GOP Town Halls and the "exchange of ideas" at those events. Much is being done by various groups and individuals. One need only pay attention and hopefully help. It really isn't hard to send an email or make a phone call.

There is plenty of outrage on a variety of issues. That said one can only do so much. One wonders what the OP has done to contact their elected representatives federal, state and local, to support organizations who are fighting on the behalf of all of us, such as the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, the AARP and Alliance for Retired Americans, to write letters to the editor of their local media?

We all can do something things and together those things add up.

If Obamacare hadn't been so horrible, Paul Ryan and Trumpsky wouldn't have had to repeal it. They are like religious true believers; there is always a way to explain away anything and everything. Trumpsky works in mysterious ways.

on another thread, about how fascism is at our doorstep.

Just a suggestion: I think when we write or call our Senators and Reps just call it out now that we have become a flawed democracy and we are embarking on Fascism. We need to just say it FASCISM, because are our Senators and Reps saying it???? and are they just going along with this takeover.

Why is it that a woman in an Apple store shows more outrage and is more outspoken than our lawmakers? We may not ever have another chance to get back what we are losing. As I said above, comedians are providing better public education and showing more passion than our elected lawmakers. Yes, we have some media savvy Trump opponents, but they are few in number.

25. A quarter of the voting population has no problem with it

and don't think it's really happening. They accuse anyone they disagree with as being "fake news." Another 15% or so of the public don't like certain things about Trump, but want to "give him a chance" and don't think he's as bad as people say he is. These are likely people who are not driven by claims of racism and sexism and really don't have a problem with it because it likely doesn't impact them. So there a LOT of privilege in this group.

That's why there's no outrage except among Democrats and some Independents. Trump has a historic level of support among Republicans.
