8. What struck me the most yesterday were the expressions on Grassley and Feinstein's faces

when they emerged from a security briefing and wouldn't speak. It made me think something really, really big is going to happen very soon. Feinstein, in particular, looked rattled and shocked and she's one of the toughest women around.

40. I only got a quick look at their faces but....

They looked dazed and a bit out of their element. As if they couldn't figure out WHAT to say, if anything, without letting the cat out of the bag. It was startling in that it seemed so out of character for people who normally seem to have their act together. Disconcerting to see them so rattled, to say the least! They are seasoned politicians who normally are poised and camera ready. They were clearly upset and gobsmacked. I just hope that something breaks open soon because the suspense is killing me and, apparently, lots of others, too!

I was surprised that Grassley deferred to Feinstein. It may be an attempt to show that it's non-partisan but it seemed just a bit off to me.

The waiting and not knowing is always the worst but these things sometimes take time. Hopefully it's a fairly quick thing and it's not something swept under the rug or downplayed "for the good of the country" although I think this has grown big and public enough that they really can't.

Whatever it is needs to come out and be dealt with in the open. IMO how we handle it is important to our growth as a nation and our standing in the world.
