I fear that peaceful protests will not remove drumph

But we have no other recourse given the GOP implicated in drumph's every "policy" and EO. They will never stop this lunatic - look at what he's grafted already. The costs ae staggering. He's a criminal.

The SCOTUS will be biased and fail to uphold rights except "religious freedom" BS

It was not the protests that took down LBJ or Nixon. It was that the people finally paid attention and took them both down. Without the protests, I'm not sure LBJ would have left when he did. Of course, tricky-Dick had some other problems.

Johnson was one of the most successful Democratic presidents ever...civil rights, Medicare and Medicaid. He inherited a war...and made mistakes there...but the 'take down' of Johnson involved election Nixon...now honestly whatever flaw Johnson had, he was 1000 times better than Nixon.

agree that this is an unfair comparison. Success does not equal "ethical" or "moral". I am happy Johnson followed through on Civil Rights to say the least, but to ignore the arm-twisting, back-room tactics of Johnson is to sugar-coat history. Better than Nixon, yes. 1000X better - dunno if I would go that far.

other president could have done so-not even Kennedy. Johnson achieved the most progressive wins since Roosevelt. But heaven forbid we use tactics that are not pure...would it be more ethical and moral not to have fought like hell for the poor, seniors and people of color? I will never understand such an argument. I consider Johnson one of our best presidents...Obama also inherited a war and was unable to stop it, yet he was a great president as well in a different way. As my dear old Dad was fond of saying ...you can't fight fair if the other guy doesn't. Winning is the best thing...it is the only thing!

As was mentioned already they potentially can influence the people who 'can' make the changes sought, they can also potentially influence some people to rethink previous stances or sway the undecided and they definitely let those protesting or wanting to know that they're not alone.

needs to get into a knockdown drag out argument to his face. Every time I see a reporter interview a right winger they tried to be diplomatic because they want to interview them again. This bullshit has to stop. Our country is too important. We need a, "Have you no shame?", moment. Trump needs to be shouted down and not allow to vomit his lies.
