What is The 21st Century American Verband Nationaldeutscher Juden

What is/was the Verband Nationaldeutscher Juden?

It was the Association of German National Jews founded in 1921 by Max Naumann. It was a conservative group that supported the National People's Party, a national conservative and monarchist party (It was an alliance of nationalists, reactionary monarchists, völkisch, and antisemitic elements, and supported by the Pan-German League)
By 1933, they supported the Nazi's. Their organization wrote in 1934:

"We have always held the well-being of the German people and the fatherland, to which we feel inextricably linked, above our own well-being. Thus we greeted the results of January, 1933, even though it has brought hardship for us personally."

The Association wanted the total assimilation of Jews into the German Volksgemeinschaft, self eradication of Jewish identity, and the expulsion from Germany of the Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe.[3] Naumann was especially opposed to Zionists and Eastern European Jews, the former he considered a threat to Jewish integration and to be carriers of a "racist" ideology serving British imperial purposes, while he saw the latter as racially and spiritually inferior.

In 1835, Naumann was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to Columbia Concentration Camp. He was released about a month later. He died of cancer in 1939. His organization was disbanded in 1935 by the Gestapo

They opposed Jewish boycotts of German businesses and issued a manifesto in 1934 that stated Jews were being treated fairly in Germany

This kind of reminds me of the Log Cabin Republicans and their leader Gregory T. Angelo who considers Trump pro-LGBT and doesn't consider Sessions anti-LGBT.

He endorsed Hair Douchengroper
The log cabin didn't. But, that was because he had never held elected office
Now they seem okay with him -- at least the organization is

there are a few groups out there who support tRump even though his agenda means "hardship for (them) personally". You can find Jewish supporters, black supporters, LGBT supporters, etc.

It comes down to supporting the idea of nationalism/conservatism, not the reality as it comes in small doses. What I mean is that the idea of a perfect (conservative/nationalistic) American society is so tantalizing to these people that they are willing to endure whatever small discomforts they encounter on the path to this ideal world. Theirs is a perfect society with perfect people. I'm almost positive that they don't envision themselves living in that society. Call it self-hatred if you want, and maybe we should. How powerful can that self-hatred be! Remember that Hitler bemoaned the fact that he was not truly Aryan. You have to wonder if he was going to reserve some of the Zyklon B for himself...at the end...when his perfect society was realized.

Brilliant writer, many of his ideas on economics from the late 80's were quite good, provided we lived in an absolutely colorblind, perfect world.
The problem of course is, we don't live in a perfect world. He built his economic images on him being unaffected by the destruction his ideas would bring when implemented in the real world. He had the luxury of being able to averet his eyes

If they can't handle the problems of the real world, they imagine a problem free one. Everyone does it to an extent. We wonder what it would be like to win the lottery. Some go so far as to buy a couple lotto tickets. These people are taking it to the absolute extreme.
