General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsReasons why I will NEVER, EVER forgive Trump voters.
All these things were done BEFORE the election, so don't try to tell me that Trump voters didn't know EXACTLY what they were voting for:
Calling Mexicans rapists
Shaming women for having menstrual cycles
Saying John McCain is not a hero for surviving torture
Signing up a white nationalist as a delegate
Saying he is against the First Amendment
Refusing to condemn the KKK
Mocking a disabled reporter
Praising Saddam Hussein
Praising Vladimir Putin
Re-tweeting white nationalists
Tweeting that most murders of white people are done by African Americans
Mocking women's personal appearance
Sexualizing his daughter
Lying about American Muslims celebrating on 9/11
"Two Corinthians"
Talking about his penis during a national debate
Saying a judge was partial due to his ethnic heritage
Supporting the Obama "birther" lies
Threatening to end the free press
Defrauding students of "Trump University"
Not releasing his taxes
Saying pumping breast milk is "disgusting"
Asking Russia to hack the United States
Of course there is so much more, but this hits the high (low) lights for me.

They purposely advocate for rich people because rich people authorize their racism.
It all comes down to that. They really do hate brown and gay people and non christians.
Not at all complicated.

(37,648 posts)I hold them to their responsibility. But they are a little different than the ones that I think KNEW Trump was unfit for office, but they decided that it was more important to them that they get their pony, and the rest of the citizens be dammed.

(6,269 posts)She said that each of the friends or family members who supported Trump had, in doing do, revealed things about themselves that she had never suspected. Ugly things that she had not known were there.
Now, she says, she will never be able to un-know or un-see what was revealed.

Knowing that some of the office staff at the pediatric office where I work voted for Trump has changed how I regard them. I wish it were not so, but it is.

(7,850 posts)45 supporters revel in their vileness. They want to hate. They want to insult, deride, be ignorant, and be just as vulgar as their demigod. I never suffered such assholes before, I won't start now.

(19,489 posts)We're now past the point at which we can stop catastrophic damage. The fuse is lit, and no one can put it out now.
In the 40-50 years I have left on this planet, I fully expect to see civilization start to come apart at the seams, and hundreds of millions to die from this. And the 2016 election was the last chance we had.
Now I have to raise my 6 yr old daughter knowing that she will see horror, hardship and dispair in her lifetime that we typically only see in dystopian sci-fi movies today. And every day I have to think what skills I can learn and teach her that will help her survive the clusterfuck that is coming.
God, I kinda hope she doesn't have kids of her own

(10,437 posts)The voters who wouldn't vote or voted 3rd party because they couldn't accept the lesser of 2 evils are 100 percent responsible for trump...They did what they did knowing true evil would occupy the Whitehouse. They are the ones .....

(3,063 posts)They don't care if other people suffer and/or die as long as they think they stand to benefit from it somehow. I think some of them are beginning to realize that they're going to have to suffer and/or die right along with the rest of us.

(5,276 posts)A lot of them are glued to Faux News so they got a filtered brand of news.
I have two pretty good friends who voted for Chitolini and neither knew about some of his most odious behavior and both I suspect just go along with their husbands and were brainwashed from childhood. Both are as nice as can be, it is just hard to grasp.
But then there are the far right White Nationalists types, they can go to Hell....if there really is such a thing.
