..I'm much more of a Franken fan and always have been. I think he's just what we need now.

But I like and could get behind Gillibrand, even though I'm somewhat cautious about her. I think her recent moves (voting nay on so many of Trumps nominees) is definitely a more calculated positioning move on her part and not in keeping with her track record which is solid and without major controversy, but hardly the stuff of progressive firebrands.

4. I like it, but am just not sure Franken would be willing to run.

One thing I've learned is that presidential candidates really need that fire in the belly, to face what is always a grueling experience.

I don't object to anyone proposing candidates, but would it hurt to expend some effort at discussing WHY you think they are appropriate?

on Franken. They are so easy to read those right alt righties. They are looking for a Benghazi to hang around Franken's neck as we speak. Franken is filling Edward Kennedy's role as liberal lion and shows so much respect for the regular American. GOP cannot compete with that.

7. he's actually the Paul Wellstone of now days......and I actually would like to see the comparisons

of the voting records of each of them, Paul and Ted I mean. Paul to me was more of the common man's senator. Ted was as well, but his family's wealth kinda put him outta the middle man's bracket actually. Loved him for his dedication to our causes but Paul Wellstone really was the common man's voice. JMHO.

when he and some family tragically died in that plane crash. I just remember how the GOP were squealing about his funeral and how it should not be a democratic political event - ***holes. Just goes to show you how threatened the GOP were by Wellstone. I never saw him being interviewed. It would have been a privilege.

had just ordered my lunch and on the radio in my car, the woman said that Paul Wellstone, his wife, and 5 others had died in a plane accident. I get to the window to pick up my food and I'm bawling......window lady said what's wrong? I said Paul Wellstone just died.......she didn't know who he was by her puzzled look on her face that I could see through my tears.....I said a great man and drove to the nearest place to stop and bawled for at least 15 minutes. Couldn't eat my lunch, went back to work and asked my boss if I could take the afternoon off. I looked like a wreck, he said ok gave me a hug and said he was going to miss him as well. Lots of speculation that he was murdered......make me so ill today that he's gone. A great, great man.
