http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2017/03/23/another-intel-dem-confirm-trump-russia-evidence-more-than-circumstantial.html"The evidence is more than circumstantial," said Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the committee said. Rep. Mike Quigley, another Democrat on the committee, said in a separate conversation Thursday he had seen the same as Schiff.
Schiff said that the public would have to wait until the panel completed its investigation into Russian interference with the U.S. election to see the evidence hes referencing.
"I certainly think at the conclusion of the investigation we ought to disclose as much as we can, but I don't think we should be disclosing evidence during the investigation," Schiff told The Daily Beast. ................

(2,522 posts)I am rather certain that virtually everyone is aware that the US Intelligence Community monitors and analyzes as much of the Russian traffic as they are able.
The Russians SURELY must be aware that the US Intelligence Community monitors and analyzes as much of the Russian traffic as they are able. This has been going on for 70 years, and is hardly anything new.
Therefore, the Russians must have known that they would be overheard apparently discussing with a seemingly large number of members of the Republican Party about how to help sway various national - and possibly state - elections in favor of the Republican Party.
It thus would seem that the Russians set up the Republicans for a monumental fall, and if the Republicans did not fall, The Russians would at least learn quite a lot about the abilities, inabilities and posture of the US counter-intelligence services.
Were the Republicans involved in this debacle really that monstrously stupid, or did they think that they could just get away with it?
Did the Russians tell the Republicans that all of the communications lines were completely secure - when they were probably almost certain that they were not?

(51,129 posts)The White House ordered document retention and hired 24 attorneys. The must have been subpoenaed by a secret grand jury, likely FIS. Perhaps another one had to be convened for U.S. persons after the DNC hack conspiracy evidenced involvement of the Trump campaign.
If it led to Trump, the White House could be bugged.
Anyway, aside aside, they have reached the point where they revealed the investigation, which no doubt they held back on doing until they had to serve subpoenas. At that point they did not want only the targets to know and Comey revealed the investigation, but only to the slightest extent possible I presume and perhaps only one of several.
They are still walking a fine line with the Congressional Committees because they have to worry not only that the Republicans will run straight to Trump, but Trump pulled in the Committee chairs into the transition, inserting them into the conspiracy.
