It Being Friday, and Congress Being in Session,

I wonder, as I do every Friday, whether or not there will be a news dump by the end of the day. What new horror story will today bring? We will have the result of the House vote on the Nonsurance bill, but that doesn't qualify. A news dump has to be something that shocks the nation sufficiently to distract it from whatever nefarious things the Republicans have done this week.

A news dump is the means by which we will all become enraged over the weekend - enraged enough to lose sight of some other horror that has been thrust upon us.

So, will there be such a news dump today? What will it be?

This thread provides a place for everyone to predict this week's dumping.

MSNBC from 8-11 pm on Fridays. Just in case we miss it - as those three tend to take a deep dive into the Friday Night Horror Show (my husband's title - not mine).

Yes - I'm wondering what it will be today, what accusation aka LIE Trump will tell, who will be hurt by his latest edict, etc. etc.

Every single fucking Friday its the same thing.

for coverage on the Friday evening and late night news programs on the three major broadcast networks. That way, we can all lose sleep over it tonight and through the weekend.

That way, the Saturday and Sunday news programming can consist of various pundits discussing what the news dump portends for next week. News dumps provide employment for a large number of otherwise unemployable people and ensure that we tune in during times when we might be otherwise occupied. That, in turn, allows advertisers to target specific demographic groups to sell their various wares and services.

It's a self-perpetuating thing.
