I agree. MSNBC needs to get rid of all of the GOP rethreads from Fox...we don't want them

(31,223 posts)to make her show profitable. Joy had a daily show @ 2pm, but it was cancelled. Perhaps an evening slot would be the perfect fit for her.

(6,262 posts)But then, she would outshine Toad, Tweety, Hayes, and Kornacki in the weekly afternoon and evening time slots.
So embarrassing to those men, whose agents may have more clout with the network.
I never watched cable news on Saturday -- until she was put in that time. She is my favorite - even over Rachel and Lawrence.

(10,500 posts)I don't think Chris Hayes has a lot of clout. His ratings were low for awhile and it seemed like they were looking to replace him. They just didn't know who they were going to put in his time slot. Then he won an emmy and then his ratings went up. So he bought himself some more time.

(19,836 posts)...year. Joy, Lawrence, and Rachel are my favorites!!! Chris Hayes seems nice enough, but I just don't connect with him. And Tweety just rubs me the wrong way.

(10,565 posts)No MSNBC regular watchers are watching her-and no Faux watchers are watching her. Her ratings are cratering-that's why she is being heavily promoted. Her show is on it's last gasp. Go Joy!! She is the real deal.

to do on AM JOY. Because format rules the daily shows.
I like her half hour long panel discussions a lot.
She has more editorial leeway on the weekend show.
MSNBC lets her do whatever she wants there.
Breaking news interrupts the daily shows all the time.
I can take her there or leave her where she is now and still be very happy.

(193 posts)Have been watching CNN, and not MSNBC for that reason. Joy is one of the best in the business, and as of now, other than Maddow, they are getting their lunch eaten by CNN.

(218 posts)On days with interesting news especially (which is most days now), we tune into MTP Daily. We can't get it off the channel fast enough when it's time for Greta. We may go to CNN, maybe local news, maybe turn it off. We may then come back for Hardball, or maybe not for some time.
If the excellent and delightful Joy were in that slot instead, it would be must-watch. Lots of evenings, we wouldn't leave until after Lawrence or even after the 11th Hour.
Surely that matters to execs?
Please, bring us JOY!

(10,164 posts)(My favorite slur that I learned on here). I LOVE Joy Reid's straightforward, suffer no fools attitude. Greta is a terrible fit. Hopefully she won't last long.
Tatiana
(14,167 posts)and why they won't get rid of her even though her ratings are not-so-good.
She is a wingnut and she is still booking top-tier Republican guests that probably would not go on the other MSNBC primetime shows (e.g. Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow, or Lawrence O'Donnell). She books the guests and they still speak quite freely with her, from what I can see (just like when she was on Faux). I have also noticed hosts like Hayes and O'Donnell using clips of her interviews with Republican guests to prove the Republican's corruption.
I still think her show is atrocious and I refuse to watch or to give her a chance. But, in the grand scheme of things, I guess she serves a purpose.

(36,424 posts)Greta cuz she's a right wing shill & Tweety cuz he's in love with his own voice. Put Joy in one slot & give Ali Velshi the other.

(35,423 posts)Cenk said as much when he left. That's why they love Joe Scar. He can get Republicans on his show, and that's why they love Greta. If you notice, she gets high ranking Republicans like John McCain.
