It doesn't add up.

The Russians are under the microscope since the firing of General Flynn, the recusal of Jeff Sessions, the questions about Manafort's Russian connections, and other suspicious Russian activity, and Jared Kushner goes to Aspen to meet a Russian banker??

A normal person would not get within a thousand miles of a questionable Russian but not Jared. He acts in a reckless and arrogant manner, as if he is oblivious to the Russian investigation that is going on?

3. My two guesses

1) The collapse of the sweetheart deal with the Chinese company to invest in Kushner's 666 park Ave building has him desperate as it seems the company is losing money hand over fist on that project. (The family should have stuck with NJ garden appartments!)

2) The Trump administration's Ken and Barbie are so arrogant that they do not think they have to follow rules. Note that neither are where they are based on their abilities -- other than having chosen rich parents.
