Former White House staffer: amid Mike Flynn immunity request, Donald Trump is considering resigning

From the Palmer Report:

Now that Donald Trump’s former National Security Adviser is offering to testify in Trump’s Russia scandal in exchange for immunity, it significantly narrows the path for Trump managing to survive the scandal himself. Flynn is essentially admitting he’s guilty just by asking for immunity, and such a deal will only be granted if Flynn can take down a bigger fish; that fish would be Trump. So it doesn’t come as a total shock to see a credible report tonight that Donald Trump is considering resigning.

Claude Taylor, who worked on three presidential campaigns and served on President Bill Clinton’s White House staff, tweeted the following this evening: “An ind journalist I have worked with-who has been reliable-says they have 2 sources that say Trump is considering options-incl resignation.”

Its OK - if the report that immunity was refused is true - he won't have to resign. jmg257 Mar 2017 #17

I consider anything sourced from that website to be sheer speculation masquerading as news.

With all the crap out there maybe folks should stop posting speculation as news.

That never happens. The Palmer Report is speculative fiction, at best, if not deliberate crap.

I wish that site did not get used as a source on DU. Unnamed sources and sheer speculation are what that site posts. Frankly, there is no source for this. The Palmer Report is not a news outlet at all.

So have many people. Tribe did not in any way say that Trump was thinking of resigning, so that tweet has no relevance. Tribe was simply saying what so many of us have said to Trump on his Twitter feed. "Resign, Trump!" I've posted that several times, myself. Tweets are evidence of nothing but that someone used Twitter to make a comment.

The Palmer Report is not a news outlet. It's a speculative blog.

So is the Palmer Report. I have many opinions, and I post them here on DU. I don't have a blog that pretends to be news. Palmer does.

The Palmer Report is not a reliable source for news. It is simply someone's opinion on a blog, pretending to be news.

This motherfucker is going to hang on with all his might. I expect him to commit far worse crimes to remain in power. He will activate his supporters, and will instigate violent protests in response. This could be the most violent period in the modern era.

juicy trial. We haven't yet seen the "golden shower" tape. No resignation to be accepted unless that dvd is attached to it.

From Presidents Trump perspective (an extreme Narcissist):

- He would say he hasn't done anything wrong. Blame is the name here. So sure he might quit but it would only be because other people weren't cooperating. More likely he's going to be pardoning everyone and his own narcissism would make sure he breaks everything around him first.

- As stated in other posts resigning actually makes him more vulnerable and admits defeat. When has Trump ever admitted defeat? He has been in tight spots in the past and came out on top. That's what his supporters like about him and what he will do. So the only way for him to resign is if it's a big win for him. Maybe a health issue or something like that.

- Most important: There is no upside to him in resigning. None at all. More likely he'll just spend a lot of time at his resort.
