Why are people just now acting surprised about Russia trolls when Sam B ran this 5 months ago?

It's like when Hillary literally called Trump a puppet and we knew that Russia hacked the DNC and the news only "broke" when the FBI released that docket on Obama's behest back in January.

2. I saw a program about a Russian "troll factory" well over a year ago

I can't remember where I saw it (Frontline?), but it featured a nondescript building a guy wearing a hidden camera got into, showing a room packed with people on computers, all busily posting on social media. Screen shots were blurry, but you could see they were on Farcebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other sites. Supposedly it was all hush hush, even within the country, but this was a former worker there who went in to schmooze some of this friends.

Anyone who is surprised by this stuff must be watching cable news instead of PBS.

From a nondescript office building in St. Petersburg, Russia, an army of well-paid “trolls”
has tried to wreak havoc all around the Internet — and in real-life American communities.

........... Every day at the Internet Research Agency was essentially the same, Savchuk told me. The first thing employees did upon arriving at their desks was to switch on an Internet proxy service, which hid their I.P. addresses from the places they posted; those digital addresses can sometimes be used to reveal the real identity of the poster. Savchuk would be given a list of the opinions she was responsible for promulgating that day. Workers received a constant stream of “technical tasks” — point-by-point exegeses of the themes they were to address, all pegged to the latest news. Ukraine was always a major topic ............

but I shitcanned the threads. I can't tell you who was posting it because they went on ignore and I've cleaned out my ignore list recently of miscreants who have been inactive for a year or more.

Thanks for the article. I seem to remember the building was boxy, brown, and unlabeled.

I was thinking my mind was just seeing patterns that weren't there or creating conspiracies. I think someone replied to me with the report in this post specifically.

Going back on my FB, to my first anti-trump post, I can now clearly see trolls were out in force. I just didn't realize who it was. I thought it was just regular old dirty politics.

9. Actually they did. People did not understand the implication to come on our election.

This is what Manafort was an expert at when he became trump's campaign director, but that didn't seem to matter much to anyone either. And we knew Roger Stone was an evil dirty trickster.

It seems more like the media was paid off under the table, totally corrupted by fat wads of cash. They just kept giving trump free air time even though all these things were known. It did not matter that it was reported, it wasn't repeated.

but it made me so angry that the only place I saw reporting on this issue was a show that is considered a comedy show.
