In Oklahoma the number of magnitude 3.0 quakes a year rose from 2 to 889; why do they vote red?

I'm seriously asking here. And not for anecdotal evidence about republicans. I'd really like to know how a state where the chilling effects of deregulation can LITERALLY BE PHYSICALLY FELT and yet they vote for the "regulation is the problem" party. Even hard-red immigrant-hating republicans shouldn't be that stupid.

And for that matter why don't progressive PACs just hammer in "republicans are literally raping your state" to the people of Oklahoma?

3. Progressive voices are largely mute in OK. Plus, residents of OK hate Dems more than earthquakes.

Somehow Republicans have convinced people there that loss of property or life resulting from their greed and deregulation is less of a threat to society than Democrats who want to help people obtain health care and an education. Earthquakes don't cause abortions so I guess the people of OK are fine with them.

between fracking and earthquakes. Yeah well...fracking has slowed considerably, down to almost none with lower crude prices and earthquake activity slowed right along with it. We've had several rattles here in Kansas hundreds of miles from the epicenter in Oklahoma. I can't remember the last time that we've felt a tremor here--maybe a year??

Fracking and earthquakes are joined at the hip to each other. Everyone knew it from the get-go.

If GOPhers are raping the state, then the state will just have to carry teh baby to term.

Seriously, I don't think enough Oklahomans can intellectually make the connection between the frackquakes and the de-regulation when these things cross the synapses. And would "God-fearin' republikunz" lie to them?

Just my 2cts.

They are a special type of stupid. Wouldn't surprise me if they think California is great because they have earthquakes.

Everything we know about people in the red states shows us that
they are totally out of touch with reality and ruled only by
their hates and fears which are easily manipulated by rightwing
media, propaganda, and fake news.
