Here are a sample of the reasons people used their guns last month. As always, we have provided links to local news reports documenting every incident.

I was too drunk to drive, so I got an Uber. In the back seat, I moved my legally-concealed handgun from one pocket to another and it went off. I shot my driver in the back but he was really nice about it. Five stars. (PA, 3/5)

(23,670 posts)Many of the people who shot someone can't say why because the someone they shot was themselves.
Over 21000 people killed themselves with a firearm last year. Half of all suicides are done with a gun. And they are by far the most successful means to attempt suicide with.
Suicidal thoughts are often temporary. And the families of those who kill themselves with guns are often left wondering, "if only they hadn't been able to get a gun so easily."

(67,731 posts)and died a few years later. The sister of the neice shot felt so much shame at not going to help out her sister that night, she became a Methodist minister and essentially changed her name.
Lots of repercussions just because of one drunken, angry man who kept a loaded handgun to "protect" himself against an intruder.

(17,984 posts)But the one that stands out to me is the kid (obviously a kid) who wanted his mom to get him doughnuts. This story is wrong on so many levels I don't know where to begin. Suffice it to say that, if you have to beg mommy to get your doughnuts, you are not mature enough to own a firearm.
