GOP pulling the "nuke" option could be their undoing...

It strikes me that when 2020 rolls around: a.) even Trump supporters will be pretty sick of Trump; b.) The new revitalized Trumpcare 2.0 will p*ss off lots of Trump voters (those still alive); c.) McConnell pulling the "nuke" option will make it clear to even the stupid THERE IS NO CHECK ON TRUMP and the GOP - EXCEPT TO GET A RATIONAL DEMOCRAT in the White House to VETO their madness!!!

There will be no more pretense - THEY WILL OWN ALL THE CRAP THAT HAPPENS BETWEEN NOW AND THEN. And it will be more obvious any day the ONLY OPTION is to make Trump a one-term president.

And then...

IF we get more votes in the house and senate - NO FILIBUSTER ANYMORE! (I just hope we don't weasel out and appoint "moderates" to the courts to appease the imaginary moderate Republicans (the ones wearing their swastikas only at home).

We don't even need a filibuster...there are not enough GOP Senators voting for this in terms of a simple majority.

...and it has varied from six to ten throughout history. So, say Trump manages to get a bunch of appointments, and the court stands at 7-2 conservative by the time 2020 rolls around. Then we recapture the presidency and both houses of congress. There is nothing that would prevent us from deciding "Hmmm...the SCOTUS is too small; it should have fifteen justices instead," and immediately naming and confirming six additional progressive justices. And, with the filibuster eliminated, there's not a damn thing Republicans can do to stop it.

That's one reason the nuclear option could wind up blowing up in the Republicans' faces.

However, the definition of moderate repugs being the ones that "only wear their swastikas at home" is fantastic.

will be the true undoing of the GOP. Until then it will remain pretty evenly split. 2020 also brings another census so we need to be prepared for some traditionally blue state House seats to shift to red and purple states like Texas, Georgia and Florida due to population shifts.
