Hmmm, Trump really seemed to be in a rush to launch Tomahawks...

Especially, when he's having this Russia cloud over his head AND while he's having talks with the Chinese President, with whom he has concerns over North Korea, a country that he's just threatened unilateral military action against.

This is getting curiouser and curiouser.

FDT.

1. He can kill two birds with one stone..launch a very limited attack that appeases Russia

so he gets to look Presidential and not getting on Putin's bad side(and Tillerson still is talking out both sides of him mouth about weather or not Russia was warned of this attack) and he gets to continue the BS of the mess he inherited from Obama. Hopefully, the Russia investigation stays on point at the media stations. But, that may be put on the back burnners.

title:

Tillerson’s Russia 180: ‘Either Russia has been complicit or Russia has been simply incompetent’

Sec. Rex Tillerson explained to press at Mar-a-Lago that the United States did inform Moscow of the bombing of the airfield in Syria but they didn’t use any Russian infrastructure to enact it. His comments came moments after President Donald Trump addressed the nation on the 59 Tomahawk missiles launched into Syria.

“This was a 100 percent U.S. military operation tonight,” Tillerson said.

So what is our take on this?? the American people was this warranted?

2. This conspiracy theory crap needs to stop!

Trump is an opportunist. Yeah...he more than likely used his Russian buddies to get him in office.

However, he's got adults around him in national security. I don't think he can use cruise missiles as a political weapon and keep these adults in his administration.

In my opinion, let's keep some perspective...

He has no credibility whatsoever and it's utter folly to trust him at all.

The conspiracy theories are rampant around these parts. Until the investigation is completed and made public this is all theory....

... since their reaction was fairly predictable. Whatever the reason, the attack was clearly a deliberate provocation, so speculating about the reason is fair game, as long as it's recognized as unsubstantiated speculation. (As someone who has devoted a lot of time to arguing against conspiracy theories, I still draw a distinction between a "conspiracy theory" and "theory about a conspiracy.&quot

6. IMO

The attack was a shot across the bow of Syria, "encouraging" them to stay away from chemical weapons.

There are 6 more airfields which could have been hit with no notice. That did not happen.

There is a lot of logic to what was done that has nothing to do with politics.

Absent evidence to the contrary, IMO we should assume what happened in Syria was apolitical...

13. Everything about war is political.

War is a grasp for power, control or destabilization.

War, by its very nature, is political.

IMO, to say let's wait and see...I say look around the globe. Countless battles over who's in charge. It's all political.

7. The missle strikes: the good, the bad, and the ugly...
Fri Apr 7, 2017, 07:29 AM
Apr 2017

first the good: Trump seems to be getting some adult foreign policy advice, and is listening to it. This is a surprise. Even Chuck Schumer supported the strikes.

the bad: Trump's actions do not match his rhetoric, which adds a measure of unpredictabilty to foreign policy that can be highly destabalizing. Had Assad, for example, known this would be the US response, he might hav never risked the chemical attacks.

the ugly: military strikes are ugly, and carry collateral damage. Peolple die...

and sure to keep Drumpf's "evil CNN" occupied for awhile.

What's being predicted on Joe Madison this morning is to watch for Drumpf's approval ratings to suddenly go up.

His approval ratings will go up, makes it look like he's standing up to Russia and takes that scandal off the front page.

If he can get China to curtail North Korea's nuclear ambitions as a result of this Mar a Lago summit he'll be seen as a hero and get even more of a boost.

with "only" 98,000 jobs created (in GOP minds, that is considered "anemic" if this had been under Obama), he REALLY needed a distraction!
