Speaking of things that should have them flaming, at least 4 times in his teleprompter statement last night Rump invoked "god" and a religious sorrow/righteousness theme. Not exactly typical of him, but claiming to act as an instrument of god's vengeance is a classic political position.

Rubio opportunistically jumped in with this,




These are speaking to a very different, but huge, faction, of course, but 30 million or so of them literally expect Armageddon at any time and are very impatient with both the noninterventionist nationalists and right wing establishment "peace in the Middle East as long as we get the oil" nonsense.

instructions. Pence's influence seen, sure, and it would be sincerely religious. But others would be urging this as a political tactic to rally the faithful to Rump.

A huge population believe god has chosen the U.S. as his base to battle Satan from. They are keenly focused on ME events and are anxious for signs that our leaders are on board with god's plan. Ergo...

because in their mythology, Jesus can't come back to save "them" until they gin up a big fat stinking suffering agonizing children-dying mothers-weeping planet-destroying Apocalyptic EndTimes Battle Royale to demonstrate colossal human stupidity and also to get rid of everyone else who does not share their "beliefs."

Plus they like seeing things blow up on TV. The NCAA tournament ended last week, they need another "sports" fix.
