The jobs report was poor and the moron already took 'credit' for a bunch of positive economic news that happened right after the inauguration, so now he totally owns this too. And we were absolutely moving into recession, even then. You don't need to be an economic whiz too see it either. So war makes sense because it will camouflage the structural problems in the economy, maybe long enough for him to get re-elected.

Be honest, war IS his 'infrastructure' program. It makes work for the young and under-educated (involves them dying too, but don't think they care about that), puts $$$ in his cronies pockets and the stupid GOP congress will not question the expenditure the way they do anything that actually has longterm value to citizens like bridges, education and healthcare. Grrrr.....

15. Aircraft?

Did the bombing in Syria damage any aircraft? I thought nothing was really destroyed.

However, yeah, it seems like these bombing are just PR stunts. The Trump Administration called Russia to let them know of the bombing before it happened and may have changed the bombing site at the request of the Russians. I saw on Twitter that it was being reported that the Trump Administration did not bomb a certain part of the Syrian base because the Russians asked them not to bomb that part of the base.

The Syrian bombing also allowed the Trump Administration pretend that U.S. relations with Russia had been damaged and were at a low point. I do not think your relations with a country are damaged when you tell them in advance that their you will be bombing their ally. When President Obama gave the green light for the raid that kill Osama Bin Laden he did not call the Pakistani government to tell them that the raid was about to happen because he knew there was a chance Pakistani intelligence would tell Bin Laden the raid was coming. They learned about the raid after it had already happened. I believe U.S. relations with Pakistan were at least temporarily damaged due to the raid and the Pakistani government not being told.

As for the MOAB, who need a 21,000 pound bomb to kill 36 people. They could have accomplished the same results with a much smaller bomb, or a drone strike. However, the Trump Administration likely know they would get much more news coverage if they used a MOAB and claimed they were trying to destroy a tunnel. It would be nice if the news media would attempt to send reporters to Afghanistan and Syria to see if there is any damage to the bombing sites. They should also check to see if there was ever a tunnel at the Afghanistan bombing site.
