Thanks for the coattail pull.

(1,417 posts)Gabbard was also asked why she hadnt signed a letter that many of her Democratic colleagues in Congress had sent to Trump denouncing Steve Bannon, a top adviser to the president and the former head of Breitbart News, which has garnered support from the alt-right, which is a white nationalist movement. I havent gotten into a name-calling game with regard to any of Trumps nominees because I dont see how that is productive or how that actually accomplishes anything when it comes to the policies that really will either be harmful or helpful to the people of our state, Gabbard said to applause.

With the exception of Tulsi it would seem.
She's a woman who thinks for herself and doesn't go along with all the bi-partisan warmongering, and that's just not acceptable and so she must be put in her place.

Bannon set up Trump-Gabbard meeting
Bannon, who hates the entrenched two-party system, has long admired Gabbard. Shes an Iraq War veteran with an independent streak. Bannon, a navy veteran, was drawn to her when she began publicly excoriating the Obama administration over its plan to defeat ISIS.
He loves Tulsi Gabbard. Loves her, a second source familiar with Bannons thinking told The Hill. Wants to work with her on everything

Just the fact that many think she's cozy with repugs, FOX and Assad will assure she won't get anywhere close to the presidential ticket.

If you or I gave money, weapons or support to al-Qaeda or ISIS, we would be thrown in jail, she said in announcing the legislation. Yet the U.S. government has been violating this law for years, quietly supporting allies and partners of al-Qaeda, ISIL . . . and other terrorist groups with money, weapons and intelligence support, in their fight to overthrow the Syrian government.
And there ya go, told.

(21,032 posts)were not returning to Congress in January 2017. They should have signed anyway. Here is a list of the 12 returning non-signers:
Jim Costa (CA-16)
Henry Cuellar (TX-28)
Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02)
Dan Lipinski (IL-03)
Collin Peterson (MN-07)
Dutch Ruppersberger (MD-02)
Bobby Rush (IL-01)
David Scott (GA-13)
Brad Sherman (CA-30)
Kyrsten Sinema (AZ-09)
Filemon Vela (TX-34)
Pete Visclosky (IN-01)
I think Bobby Rush deserves a pass...his grandson had just been murdered.
The rest of them need to explain their decision. As for the focus on Gabbard, she is a lightening rod because she has made herself a lightening rod. She courted national attention. She's getting it.
Doesn't the list seem much shorter when it isn't double spaced?
