Andy's greatest role was as the ultimate grifter in A Face in the Crowd.

then in No time for Sergeants and lastly the The Andy Griffith Show.... Madlock was OK but the script sucked.

Growing up with no TV we listen to his comedy records which were great at a young age.

He played a really evil guy and Cash played the sheriff who finally nabs him.

when it first ran on Broadway as a play. It was also made into a live TV special and then a motion picture, one of the funniest military service comedies ever made.
He received another Tony Award nomination for best actor for his work in the Broadway play Destry Rides Again.

Perhaps because it was so unexpected. I knew nothing about it. Was just flipping channels on a rainy day and settled on it when I saw Andy's face.

I'm still in awe of his performance.
