Fox News host Sean Hannity lost it after accusations he tried to pressure frequent show guest Debbie Schlussel into coming to his hotel room.

LET ME BE CLEAR THE COMMENTS ABOUT ME ON A RADIO SHOW THIS WEEK by this individual ARE 100 percent false and a complete fabrication, Hannity explained. This individual is a serial harasser who has been lying about me for well over a decade. The individual has a history of making provably false statements against me in an effort to slander, smear and besmirch my reputation.
He claimed Schlussel has slandered him over the years as a desperate need for attention, including making unfounded personal attacks and using indefensible and outrageous political rhetoric.
My patience with this individual is over, Hannity continued. I have retained a team of some of the finest and toughest lawyers in the country who are now in the process of laying out the legal course of action we will be taking against this individual.

I did a thread on it, WHY was O'Reilly fired and WHY did he pay damages?
Quiz time:
Which political party and group of people would absolutely do everything in their power to not just do away with sexual harassment laws but do away with the Civil Rights Act period?
Class? Class?

(18,357 posts)I would fight any accusation like this. I don't know if the accusation is true, but his response is what I would do if I had the means.
Neither one seems to have much credibility. I would not characterize his accuser as a "little girl" either.

(13,141 posts)I am simply saying he is a public figure taking an elephant gun to shoot a single female.
Size matters only to guilty men.

(13,141 posts)I was trying to portray one single female against the gigantic public figure insanity hannity. However the entire thought was lost to political correctness...and calling a female a little girl to show the disparity in public views about insanity hannity and his accuser.
I am understanding why Bill Maher gets so angry at the left.
Well, alrighty then.

(28,705 posts)a team of lawyers to go after this "individual" (that cracks me up for some reason), well then, there must be truth behind her words.

means to make an example. If this was me I'd
do the same. If stories like this are indeed untrue
then at some point you slap the person down.

(22,989 posts)Sean Hannity Accuser Walks Back Sexual Harassment Claim
UPDATE: April 24 ―
In an interview with LawNewz.com on Monday, Debbie Schlussel said she doesnt think that what happened with Sean Hannity amounts to sexual harassment. Still, she stands by her description of events, saying, He tried to get me to go back to the hotel after the show after he and his executive producer Bill Shine treated me horribly.
She clarified that Hannity allegedly asked her to come to his hotel, not his hotel room.
wishstar
(5,826 posts)She still says he was weird and she didn't like him, says he ignored her after she declined to go to his hotel. But supposedly he didn't say anything explicit or ask her to go to his room, but he did ask her to go back to his hotel. She said his behavior would not meet legal definition of sexual harassment.
MichMary
(1,714 posts)said she was invited back on his show, but only once.
Seems to me this changes things.
And--I'd find him weird and creepy, no matter what he did.

(82,849 posts)If I'm reading Schlussel right, the only thing more reprehensible than Hannity's behavior is calling it sexual harassment.

They deserve each other. I don't care what your politics are, you've got to be a loathsome person to post something like that.

(14,093 posts)I'm not shedding any tears for Sean and I treat these accusations the same way he did the claims of that Weekly World News reporter whose "Clinton fixer/hitman" story from the Enquirer was hyped all week on Hannity's show last year - with complete seriousness and hanging on her every word.

i) truth is always an absolute defense;
ii) he's a public figure and there is a much higher threshold to prove false & defamatory comments if you're in the public.

For reference to what I mean, check out TED"s talk about detecting liars. It shows how the obnoxious verbiage and pacing of the comments belie the intent of their construction -- to obfuscate.
