How to Build Trumps Wall - Privatize It
Republicans have often found a way to tax people surreptitiously by privatizing many public works projects to corporations rather than have govt pay for it. A fee is a tax under another name.
The corporations/investors are granted a multi-year license with a guaranteed profit.
This could also be done with Trumps Wall with Mexico.
Corporations/investors front the money to build it and they will be paid by Mexico.
It gives republicans a chance to save the govt money and show their confidence in Trumps word that Mexico will pay for it by investing in it.
No govt backed bonds.
No cost to the govt,,, no need for taxes,,, profit for the patriotic investors who believe in Trump.
Win win all around.
Even Trump can show his patriotism and shrewd business savvy by investing in it.

(43,982 posts)for a wall either.
The wall is a dumb idea. Only one who thinks it is a good idea is the dummy who came up with it.
It is an interesting idea to have businesses pay for it but businesses want to make money, not pay for boondoggles

(1,046 posts)It's a goddamned garbage idea to begin with. Nobody who actually lives along the border wants it, and it's just a fucking stupid idea from a fucking sociopath's campaign. One who will be RICO'd into oblivion at some point hopefully not too far in the future.
Don't play along with the brain farts of a lunatic, it just gives them legitimacy.

(4,664 posts)middlemen! Instead of paying coyotes, the soon-to-be undocumented would pay a fee to the wall-builders in order to climb over (or dig under.) Sorta how T envisions his infrastructure plan with all those toll roads.

(1,129 posts)But a wall is not necessary... I know because I have lived in the area for almost half a century...
In any case...
neither Mexico Nor any private firms are going to pay for a wall.... certainly no one will front money for a project which is non-revenue generating in nature.....
Perhaps you were left out of the latest strategy session ...
The game plan is to bilk the US tax payers by allocating funds & awarding a contract to whoever Trump owes/ promised it to....
Then down the road the contractor will have received incremental payments = substantial $$$ for alleged completion of non-tangible stages of project then default & walk away.
Save the savvy business line of bs for some other guppies

(9,934 posts)Trump and his handlers will insist he never meant a "real" wall and that the fake media is lying. Instead he will accept any minor tweak to current border security and insist that is what he always intended. A big, beautiful, metaphor. The idea that Mexico would contribute was always just a metaphor as well. He was never serious about it. It is the lying media again. A majority of those that voted for Trump will be satisfied. Then he will put his signature on another signing statement he did not even take the time to read nor understand, hop on Air Force One to one of his resorts, and he will refuse to discuss the topic further.
That is my best guess to how this plays out.
