Trump has so defiled the office of the presidency.

Always at least felt the person occupying deserved basic respect.

This one. No fucking way. He is so crude, rude, low class, mean spirited, vengeful, and just about any other adjective that describes the worst human traits, the office itself seems small.

They're not really men and women of God, but of Mammon.

I'd call on Pope Francis to bring in a team of exorcists if I were to succeed tRump/Pence.

He has defiled it in every way possible from his campaign thru the transition and first 100 days.

His cabinet picks have been atrocious (Sessions/Tillerson/DeVos, Pruitt). His executive orders have been malicious (Immigration, Environment, Fair Pay). His speaking and conduct has been inexcusably disrespectful to the office and past administrations with all of the out right lies and fabricated "alt" realities (Wire Tap, Blaming Military for SEAL death, 3 Million Fraudulent Votes, O'Reilly). I thought W was as bad as one could be at the job but now W looks outstanding compared to trump (W still holds the body count).

The embarrassment trump is and the damage he has done/is doing needs to be the proverbial Albatross hung around the neck of the Republican Party as it was the Mariner. They have clearly shown that their priority is holding power no matter the cost to the US or its citizens. They need to be held to account for this with extreme prejudice.

Come mid-terms next year we Dems/ Independents need to have our act together and vote in a unified fashion with overwhelming numbers. We got distracted last year with our own party factions and in-fighting (which amazingly enough is still going on...that needs to END, rapidly)...but even with that we still thought there was no way trump can win. Between his outrageous comments and daily displays of how unqualified he was...there was NO WAY he could win....and then he won...and now here we are. Let us hope trump has not caused irrevocable damage by then.

🤞🤞

One of the dictionary.com defnitions seems particularly apropos - to make impure for ceremonial use.

Other synonyms:

pollute
taint
debase
desecrate
sully
besmirch
disgrace
dishonor
contaminate
tarnish
violate
vitiate

one I never saw before - maculate

and two more casual - muck up and scuzz up

and then, of course, the always useful "fuck up,"

Trump is just a decoy, be careful...the republicans are the ones to really put an eye on, they are the ones who are going to do the heavy damage, the decoy is just going to sign whatever they give him because they are going to make him believe that what he is signing is "great" and he will be "great" by doing it...

Hey look, a squirrel! Yes, that is what Trump is, a decoy. Save your anger for the real devils, Ryan, McConell, etc. those are the ones you need to be very angry at.

I couldn't agree more that, at least domestically, Ryan and McConnell (and the Republican Congress, in general) are what we should be most concerned about. They are the ones who are hell bent on destroying the safety net and diminishing revenues to a trickle so there's no money to fund anything (other than the military, of course).

But that doesn't change the fact that Trumpf is utterly unqualified and unworthy. He's a disgrace to the office. And, as commander-in-chief with his finger on the button, he scares the shit out of me. He is the greatest threat to world peace since that mustachioed little man ascended to power in Germany in 1933.

At this point, my best hope is that he tires of the responsibility and resigns within the year.

Pence is reprehensible on policy, but at least there would be decorum and the family cabal would be out.

Now we have the biggest jackass on the planet in power and our government keeps getting worse. And he's surrounded himself with the most incompetent buffoons to lead our country off the cliff.
