What's with the 16 "unintelligible" spots in the AP interview with Trump?

Is this normal when doing an interview? Is there no equipment that could catch the words?

Catch that," or "Could you repeat that?" They let him slide because they want ACCESS. I'd make him repeat himself nonstop. No word salad!
