Three Years Into The Flint Water Crisis Residents Must Still Use Water Filters..VIDEO

Published on Apr 26, 2017
Three years after the water crisis in Flint Michigan made headlines, residents must still use water filters to reduce lead exposure. If Flint was 70% white, would this crisis have been allowed to last this long?

Also, let's face it...everybody within a 100 mile radius of Flint will use water filters for the next 50 years if they can afford one.

It's not an issue of the water having lead in it when taken in, but rather that they used lead pipes long ago and the decision was made some time ago to not replace them and instead just lead scale build up inside that kind of coated the inside of the pipes enough that lead transfer to the water was minimal.

But they try switched water sources without caring how the new water source might have different chemistry that took that scale off.

It's not a problem that affects others living close at all, only those on the Flint system.

Flint. I put in an under the sink water filter 25 years ago because at the time the water out of our tap tested perfect for a swimming pool. Our water is much better now but all water that we drink or cook with come from the water filter. No sense in taking chances.

That is why this is taking so long. All the piping has to be replaced to every household.
