was seriously deluded. There's no money, no consensus, and the wall
wouldn't do squat except hurt both countries. Even the threat of the wall
is hurting the US already. Mexico will buy corn from Brazil, (how much will that hurt our farmers?), slap a tourist
fee on US citizens visiting Mexico, and general hatred for the US from
our southern neighbors.
Would the US just cede the Rio Grande to Mexico?
Would Trump want build the wall in the middle of the river?
What about environmental concerns?
What about eminent domain taking land from people along the border?
The whole idea was nuts from the get go.
ETA: Plus it wouldn't achieve it's supposed goal.

Trump knows he has absolutely nothing to fear from his base. They knew what a rotten and incompetent person he is the first time they voted for him; they will NEVER turn on him, period.
