5. Impeachment will have to come first

You can't bring a sitting president up on criminal charges...but you sure as hell can bring a former one up on them.

only a great deal of constitutional angst. You'd think after Nixon, there'd be a clear and ready answer but there seems to be differing opinions on whether impeachment must come first, or if it's required at all. However it works out - I just wanna see handcuffs and a perp-walk...for at least 8 different motherfuckers, including the children of the corn....LOL

11. Just for optics' sake I think they'd impeach him first

It would look REALLY bad if they were trying a sitting president for corruption. Worse, he would be screaming "executive privilege!" at the top of his lungs. You'd think they were trying Ernie Terteltge, the Natural Living Man, after about ten minutes.

And while I admit watching President Trump melt down into a puddle of deceit and bad makeup would make for entertaining television, it would be the saddest day in the history of the republic. So...before they try him for the millions of felonies he has committed in his life, he needs to be busted back to civilian.

You DO realize we could rent a really big arena - Michigan Stadium is the biggest football stadium in the country, though maybe doing this at Indianapolis Motor Speedway would work - sell tickets to his guillotining at $25 per customer, and make enough money to start paying off the expenses he's run up so far. Hell, put it on Pay Per View - charge $6.66 and sell it worldwide.

to criminal or civil suits. So impeach him, please, so we can get on to the jail time.

6. What happened to Nixon is a good indication of what'll happen to Trump

When the GOP Congress realizes there's no hope of keeping their seats if they don't get rid of the tumor in the White House, they will visit Mr. Trump in the dead of night and cut him a deal: if you resign and flee the country, we won't send anyone out looking for you.

A bill of impeachment might/would have never made it to the floor if the GOP controlled things.

way too many fucking Dem leaders and rank and file are putting all their eggs in this impeachment basket.

Rightwingers spent every day from 2008 to 2012 shrilly shouting to impeach Obama. How'd that work again?

The fact is, it's not going to happen. Even if we retake the House and Senate, neither is going to impeach out of fear of the conspiracy bozos and police unions starting a firefight.

What we should be focusing our energy on is finding candidates that can beat Trump. I'm hoping for a Duckworth Gabbard ticket myself
