(24,510 posts)The longer the issue lingers, the more that the polls will turn against them, which will further reduce the appetite of Republican lawmakers to simply go with the flow.

(38,409 posts)How on earth it is democratic to have representatives voting on a bill - especially one this significant - that has not even been published is beyond me.
(As of the wee hours of the morning today, it was noted that there was an amendment - but no text was available.)
It ought to be prohibited to vote on a bill into which constituents can have no meaningful input becuas the content is unknown.
(In contrast (and contradictions to the idiots who say it was passed in secrecy in the dead of night) I read multiple versions of the ACA before - and each was available before it was ever voted on.)

(28,485 posts)those Republicans actually care about people losing their coverage and so on, but they don't think this bill strips enough from people.
If they actually present the sort of vicious roll-back that so many of them seem to want, it will be passed and signed so fast we won't know what happened.

(96,882 posts)...States have to "ask" for permission to waive the existing condition rules. But there are actually "moderate" House members who worry that they'll lose the next election if they vote for this.
