Hourly stops from DC to LA, room for bicycles and wheel chairs, and trains run every 2 hrs or 1hrs during commute hours.
Also use centers of interstates if possible to avoid taking land via eminent domain.

(13,340 posts)300 mph ain't bad, but it's too slow for coast to coast, that's over 9 hours from NYC to LA, with no stops. And we would need a HUGE network of such trains to effectively replace air routes.
