on increasing our homestead exemption to $75,000 to be on the ballot in '18? I'm voting no on anything this bought and paid for legislature wants.

that I didn't even know that would be on the ballot.

While it sounds nice, it's probably not good for lower-income folks who cannot finance a home and have to rent, right?

This will cause the rich to pay more. If the standard deduction is doubled -- which is also in the proposal -- then only the rich will be paying significantly more as a result of the elimination of this deduction.

Maybe you set a cap on the amount of property tax you can deduct, but this is going to hurt regular average people that pay property tax and deduct that.
