Being anti-abortion is a personal choice, but being personally opposed while supporting a woman's right to choose for herself? OK they can keep their card - That was Mario Cuomo's position after all.

But being anti-choice is certainly reason enough to kick them aside - Choice is a bedrock level part of the Democratic Party and it needs to remain so.

Stop this watering down our positions. It won't help, it doesn't matter to any of the pepe crowd, and moderates are already pro-choice

That is a big reason why Trump is having so much trouble pushing through his agenda.

and for a brief time, her constituent (till they redrew the district), my opinion is:

She made the comments publicly.

The public criticism is appropriate.

I also wrote her a message expressing my deep disappointment at those comments, and my hope that she will, like DNC Chair Perez, reconsider and speak out to affirm her support of the defense and protection of the sacred civil, human and Constitutional rights of HALF OF AMERICA.

I'm a cradle Catholic in my 60s, and defending the institutionalized misogynistic patriarchy of the Roman Catholic Church is NOT what I expect Democrats to do. AFAIC, the Vatican is a foreign theocracy, and as such, should have NO influence on US law.

The NRA/Gun Lobby has been watering down the Democratic Party position on Gun Control for years. Now the RW is trying to do the same to the Democratic Party position on a woman's right to choose.
