Other than the obvious---to destroy Obama's signature achievement.
When I read all the convoluted reasons people claim to have voted for Trump and the R congress members, it seems to me to be something much bigger, as I've read many threads here that describe how nice and solid these people are. It's just down right confusing to me.

(1,549 posts)I started out as the ACA. It was rethugs who dubbed it "Obamacare" in the hopes of turning people against it. Their little plan backfired because people saw how good it was and are grateful to the president who championed for it.
That's the Republican name for it.

That degree of hatred and jealousy is bad for ones health. Payback may be a bitch. I'd say over half the Congressional Republicans have the disease and will suffer "bigly" if they change the pre-existing condition clause of ACA. We can all testify they've had that disease for many decades.

What a piece of shit, right?

Russia intends to enter the global pharmaceutical market by 2020
Alfa Group/LetterOne (Russian Oligarch Mikhail Fridman) pledged a multi billion dollar investment in US Healthcare ....
(Reuters) - Russian billionaire Mikhail Fridman's LetterOne (L1) fund said on Monday it has launched L1 Health unit in the United States and is targeting up to $2-3 billion of investments in the global healthcare sector over the next three years.
The fund has been actively expanding abroad, investing in energy assets and other sectors, including the U.S. ride-hailing service provider Uber Technologies Inc.
Fridman pocketed about $12.5 billion after selling his stake in Anglo-Russian oil producer TNK-BP three years ago to Kremlin-controlled Rosneft (ROSN.MM). He has said he wants to turn LetterOne into a major international player.

(19,981 posts)One or both are behind everything Republicans do. In this case it's the greed plus still trying to destroy the first minority President and the very idea that minorities are capable of doing the job.
And of course they can't let government succeed at doing things for people because COMMUNISM!!!!
As for the greed, presumably big tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires will boost the stock market because that's what millionaires and billionaires tend to do with their enormous piles of extra cash. (They don't need any more widgets, thank you.) So what if a few million people die because of the Republicans' so-called "health care plan" -- the stock market is booming and that means the economy is doing great thanks to TheRump and Republicans!!! USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! USA!!!

(6,916 posts)If they don't pass something that they can claim was repeal, they look like they have just been lying about Obamacare for 6 years.
Which they have. Hopefully no one is fooled.

(50,271 posts)It won't, of course. As soon as premiums hit the stratosphere and the sheeple start dying they'll claim they were never for their badly crafted replacement bill. The ACA wouldn't have been in such trouble if Republicans hadn't started defunding it a couple of years ago. If they had any brains at all they'd replace what they undid and try to get the ACA running smoothly.
