Ive found myself thinking a lot lately about one of the most extraordinary spectacles I have ever witnessed in the House Chamber. It was the night of August 5, 1993, and Bill Clinton was one vote short of what he needed to get his economic plan through the Housea vote he got, when freshman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky switched hers. The other side of the Chamber seemed to explode. Republicans pulled out their hankies and started waving them at her, chanting: Bye-bye, Margie.http://swampland.time.com/2010/03/03/when-a-hard-vote-ends-a-political-career/

(82,849 posts)3. I've decided to ignore any complaints from Republicans and their trolls
Their reprehensible behavior over the years leaves them not even a square millimeter of moral ground to scold anyone else. I do not hear their bleats of protest, and their appeals to civility will elicit nothing more than a hollow, papery chuckle from me.
